Jules Verne, Part 17

(Continued from Jules Verne, Part 16)

THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN NEMO
Episode 2  /  "LIGHTNING JUSTICE"

The 2nd episode of "THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN NEMO" makes
use of the "lightning" gun seen-- but strangly enough, NOT used in the
"20,000 LEAGUES" film.  (I only noticed this oddity when processing the files
for the Jesse Marsh adaptation, and then watching the movie again!)  The weapon IS used in the 1961 Charles H. Schneer / Ray Harryhausen sequel, "THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND".  I only wish that film had actually used the
same version of "The Nautilus" seen in the 1954 Disney film.

The leader of the slavers in this story reminds me of Australian actor
Chips Rafferty, who played shady characters in a number of 1960s shows, including TARZAN and THE MONKEES.
