Stories from the Bible, 1956

(Continued from 1955)

Creig Flessel continues with 2 stories about Babylonian "King Nebuchadnezzar", and "Daniel in the Lion's Den" during the time of Nebuchadnezzar's son.

After this, either with the April or May 1956 installment, another longtime comics veteran, Irving Novick, takes over the artwork.

While Flessel may perhaps be best known for his run on DC Comics' THE SANDMAN (the trenchcoat, fedora & gasmask-wearing version), Novick's career spanned from MLJ's THE SHIELD (where his style closely resembled that of Joe Shuster's early SUPERMAN work) to DC's BATMAN in the 1970's (where his style more resembled "Neal Adams lite").

If anyone can confirm who did the April and November 1956 installments, I'd appreciate it! (I wish the artists' names would be listed on EVERY episode.)

Covered this year are the stories of "Easter", "Passover", "Queen Esther", "The Prodigal Son", "Sodom and Gomorrah", "The Parable of the Talents", "The Parable of the Widow's Mite", "The Good Samaritan", "The Sower", and "The Nativity".  It's clear to me some stories are more popular and are retold several times.
